Manuka & Kanuka – herbal & medicinal benefits are virtually the same. Kanuka oil is a higher, sweeter oil than Manuka which is deeper & earthier (in smell). It reminds me of walking in the New Zealand bush, fresh, clean, earthly, grounded & truly New Zealand. They are both sourced from the East Cape of New Zealand within a regenerating native New Zealand Forest. The distillers of our Manuka & Kanuka Essential Oils are in the process of becoming Certified Organic.

Manuka, essential oil, NZ tea tree – native to New Zealand. East Cape grown Manuka has been confirmed as having the highest antimicrobial activity, shown to be 20 times stronger than Australian tea tree Melaleuca alternifolia, making it an amazing healer! Called ‘Tea Tree’ by Captain Cook as he made tea from it, hence why Melaleuca spp. in Australia are also called Tea tree as Captain Cook traveled their coastline as well. Traditionally used for urinary complaints, reducing fever, head colds, stiff backs, aching joints, STD’s, skin diseases, sedative for insomnia, over-excited person or one in pain, fractures, breast congestion, mouthwash and sore eyes.

It has anti-bacterial , anti fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-wrinkle, astringent activity. Shown to help with acne, body/foot odour, hair and scalp problems, eczema, psoriasis, relieve obstructed bowel when used in massage topically, toothache, fevers, candida/thrush, ringworm, boils, insect bites, sunburn, cuts, abrasions, eczema, bed sores, urinary tract infections, athletes foot, fungal toenails, chicken pox, cold sores, abscesses, sinusitis, fleas, head lice, parasites, nasal congestion, warts, skin ulcers, respiratory conditions i.e. bronchitis, flu and coughs and more.
