Verbena is widely naturalised throughout Australia and New Zealand along roadsides, river banks and in open pastures. Also known as Dragons Claw Tears of Isis Altar Plant, Herb of Grace, Iron Hardener, Medical Ironwort, Iron Grass and Herbal Veneris (Herb of Venus). Believed to protect people from vampires, witches and negativity. As well as being used to staunch the wounds of Jesus on the Mount of Calvary. Carried for luck and for making crops abundant. Vervains name comes from the Celtic 'ferfaen', fer - to drive away & faen - a stone. Hence its ability to help with removal of kidney and gall bladder stones.
